Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How soon should I expect test results?

Quick turn around time remains a top priority. Results are typically available between 24 and 72 hours. We also offer rush services for more pressing circumstances.

  2. What broke my equipment?

A used oil analysis program is designed to detect trends. When equipment lubrication is sampled regularly and compared to new unused oil, we can both predict and prevent equipment failure.

  3. How much money can I save by setting up an oil analysis program?

This depends on the type of equipment being monitored. One customer described a potential saving of $90,000. An early coolant leak detection resulted in a $70,000 locomotive engine repair. The cost to overhaul that same engine would have cost approximately $160,000.

  4. How much does this program cost?

Oil analysis programs pricing depends on volume of samples received monthly. Please contact us with your specific company's needs so that we may create a program tailored to fit.

  5. How do I set up a program, and receive sample kits monthly?

We initially provide two sets of 3 oz sample bottles with labels at no cost to customers. Each month thereafter, we replace the sample bottles and labels submitted for analysis. This ensures that a sample bottle and label is always available for the next scheduled sample. To receive custom labels, please complete a unit data sheet and provide it to us for system entry.
